How to get around Nassau

Navigating Nassau is relatively straightforward. Jitney buses are the most affordable way to travel during the day, running on set routes across town. Taxis are easy to find but make sure to agree on the fare before you hop in. For something a little different, water taxis offer transport between Nassau and Paradise Island, providing picturesque views of the harbor along the way.

Is Nassau safe?

Nassau welcomes millions of visitors each year and most have a safe and easy trip, especially in resort areas and popular spots. Like any busy capital, it’s smart to stay aware, avoid wandering into unfamiliar neighborhoods, and use licensed taxis after dark.

Government advisories recommend increased caution, especially outside resort zones.
